Proximus is a renegade soldier to his home world in the Proxima Centauri star system. As a General, he was sent to Earth to investigate the outcome of the 1992 incident involving Dr. Destroyer and was ordered to return to his planet upon reviewing the state of the Earth. However, he decided to stay after he adapted to the lifestyle of humans and witnessed their daily struggles to obtain world peace. Proximus decided to help mankind by using his incredible powers to punish America's scum and has vowed to keep the American people safe from any alien threats! After traveling throughout the United States and helping save many people in many cities, he finally decided to make Millennium City his new home and base of operations. Today, Proximus is a top ranked member of the Metal Militia and is a well known hero among the citizen of the great city formerly known as Detroit. Although his former leaders are destined to return Proximus to his home world in order to be prosecuted for treason, he is determined to to stay on Earth and continue the fight for justice and all that is good!

Samael is a General in the Armed Forces of the Proxima Centauri star system. He was sent to Earth by his ruler, Ahriman, in order to arrest Proximus for treason for having failed to return to his home after the 1992 Detroit incident involving Doctor Destroyer. Ahriman had planned to take over the Earth and drain it or its resources had Doctor Destroyer's plan succeeded. However, Proximus adapted to the lifestyle of humans and was now helping protect the planet from his former leaders. Samael has been ordered not to return to Alpha Centauri without Proximus in his custody, and so he has created a hidden base somewhere on Monster Island! He has manipulated many of the island's inhabitants in exchange for riches which he can create thanks to his ability to transform rocks and metals into pure gold. Proximus has since been able to defeat Samael in battle, but this is only due to the fact that he has a great team to help him when needed. Samael is still awaiting the day that he can catch his former ally off guard in order to complete his mission and return to his home world to accept all the rewards which were once promised to him by his leaders. Since he has all the time in the world, he will surely strike when he finds the perfect opportunity!
